Medical Massage uses many different massage techniques with the intent of improving or correcting medically diagnosed conditions. These sessions are centered around the clients specific needs indicated by their Medical Doctor, Chiropractor, or Physical Therapist. Some techniques used in these sessions include MyoFascial Release, Manual Lymph Drainage, Orthopedic Massage , Assisted Positonal Release, Passive and Assisted Stretches, Reflexology, and Cranial Sacral Therapy. Some common conditions include Migraines, TMJD, Frozen Shoulder, Fassett Disease, Spinal Degeneration, Pinched Nerves, and PTSD to name a few. This modality requires addition training and should only be administered by properly trained Massage Therapist and Bodyworkers.
MyoFascial Release is the application of holding pressure and moving the fascia layers to release restrictions. The practitioner will first assess what areas need releasing by watching your body movements and palpating the fascia and surrounding tissues. Gentle pressure is then applied in the direction of the restriction until it is released. This is the most commonly used massage modality. Most massage therapy students learn the fundamentals of Swedish before anything else. Swedish techniques are used to relax, mobilize, and energize muscles. Also known as Relaxation Massage, Swedish improves circulation, can reduce swelling, and can promote healing in scarred or damaged tissue.

Massage Therapist will use these in their massage oils to apply directly to the skin or through diffuser for Aromatherapy during sessions.
